with the following statement? Telling the truth is the most important thing in
relationships. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
We always communicate with other people and try to
improve our relationships. People say that the integral consideration in a
relationship among people is always telling the truth. Personally, I agree with
this statement, and there are several reasons that can explain my opinion.
First of all, being honest and always telling the
truth makes people in a relationship trust each other more. This works for both
sides of a relationship, inasmuch as the person who tells the truth and is
being honest, trusts the other person his/her secrets, and the other person,
also, trusts him/her, because he understands the importance of not lying. This
is really visible among the kids. For example, if a kid lies to the other kid about
not having a toy, buy confusing him, the other one will not trust him anymore
and will start communicating with others.
The second reason for my opinion is that by telling
the truth people feel safer in a relationship. They do not have any secrets,
and they are not afraid of the other person discovering it. Sometimes, telling
the truth can be very painful for a person and lead to fights among people, as
it might hurt the other’s feelings, but still, it is better than hiding
anything important. For instance, let us say, a kid accidentally broke or
destroyed something that is important to his mother. If he tries to hide it by
not wanting to hurt his mother, she still will discover it sooner or later, and
get angry at him, but id he shows it to her, tells everything and apologizes,
his mother will forgive him and will not get mad.
In conclusion, telling the truth increases the level
of trust, safety, and understanding in a relationship, and is truly very
important. After all, what would our world be like, if people always lied to each
other and were not honest?
