Educational trip to Artsakh

Educational trip to Artsakh

The trip we had planned a month ago started on October 27th. It was a very interesting adventure and experience for us, and I'm going to tell about it in detail.

Day 1: Our first stop was at the Hayravank  Monastery located on the shores of Lake Sevan. We were impressed by the stunning view of that place. We walked around, had breakfast and continued our trip. Next, we stopped in the Dadivanq Monastery, and after that - the village Vanq, and went to their school. We walked around the school, made new friends, and invited them to our school. Then we went to the monastery of Gandzasar. It was very big and beautiful, and the view was unforgettable. Our next stop was the statue of a big lion carved in the mountain. We took some photos and went to the village Her-Her where the house of Gevorg’s grandparents is. We had supper, played some games, and fell asleep.

Day 2: After breakfast, we decided to go for a walk in the village. We went to the school, met kids who study there. They welcomed us, showed us their school and school gym. We played volleyball and basketball with them and then decided to see 2 very old trees. We invited them to our school and said goodbye. Then we talked with some people who live in Her-Her and walked home. We didn’t go anywhere else that day. We made one of the famous Armenian dishes Harisa and had supper. Also, we went to the Amaras monastery, but for the rest of the day, we were just talking, playing some games, relaxing and having fun.

Day 3: The third day, was full of many interesting places. I think we had the most fun that day. First, we went to one of the oldest trees in the world – Tnjri, and then to a place called Jdrduz, Hunoti Gorge which is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Our next stop was Shushi. We went to one of the Shushi schools, told about our school, danced Armenian folk dances. They also were invited to our school. Next, we went to Ghazanchetsots church, which is one of the largest Armenian churches. The church was really beautiful. Then we went to Stepanakert, which is the capital city of Artsakh. We didn’t walk in the city, because we didn’t have much time, but I’d like to visit it one more time because it was gorgeous. We just stopped to buy some food there, and also to see the famous statue of Grandmother and Grandfather. Our last stop was the Umbrella waterfall in the canyon Honut. Honestly, I was greatly impressed by that wonderful place, cause I don't find churches and monasteries as interesting as our nature. For me, the Umbrella waterfall and the Honut canyon were the most interesting, gorgeous and unforgettable places of our trip.

We didn't go anywhere else, but I think that all the places we went to are enough to make an opinion about Artsakh. It's a beautiful country, with many nice people, that are always glad to see you. It has a wonderful nature like Armenia, so you should visit Artsakh at least once.
Of course, there were many funny moments and adventures during our trip. We became closer to each other, made new friends and just spent a great time. So I'm already very excited about our next trip.
